Know About It- Disney World Weather

If you've ever been to Disney World, you know one thing- the only thing predictable about the weather is how unpredictable it is. Rain and sun are the names of the game in Disney World, but there's a great way to overcome the sun and storm to still have a magical vacation! Here are a few tips and tricks to make you as prepared as possible.

#1- Wear Sunscreen

It may seem like a weird thing to say sunscreen first but no matter the weather, UV rays are always out. To protect yourself from those rays, apply your sunscreen as directed. The last thing you want to be at Disney World is sunburnt! (My favorite brand is Blue Lizard- bluelizzardsunscreen.com)

#2- Bring a Poncho

If you want to keep the magic going without skipping a break when it rains, bring a poncho! The ponchos in Disney World are on the pricey side if you can find them. Sometimes the shops sell out when it rains, so you may have to hunt for them! If you're wearing ears and don't want to sacrifice your Disney style, Ponchear (ponchear.co) is a poncho for both kids and adults that has an extra space in the hood for your favorite pair of ears.

#3- Know the Florida Seasons

Knowing the likelihood of a hurricane or the average temperature in a certain season can definitely improve your trip. The peak of hurricane season is early September, but the technical hurricane season for Florida is June 1st through October 30th (though the vast majority of hurricanes don't see past mid-October). The hottest part of the year in Disney World is July which can average a high of 95 degrees fahrenheit whereas the coolest part is around January with a high of around 70 degrees fahrenheit. Taking a trip mid-to-late October through January is the ideal time to travel to the "Most Magical Place on Earth" if you want to beat the heat AND rain! Keep in mind though, the only thing constant about the weather in Florida is the unpredictability. These are just general guidelines based on historical data.

#4- Watch the Weather

Paying close attention to AccuWeather.com and Weather.com is a great way to make sure that no matter what time of the year you're visiting Walt Disney World, you'll be as prepared as possible.

These four tips are a good start to being prepared for the unpredictable weather in Florida. What's your favorite tip? Do you have any others that readers should follow?
